Hello
John is a fully registered Osteopath with extensive experience in both clinical practice and elite performance environments. He completed a rigorous five-year degree in osteopathy and has since built a career focused on precision rehabilitation, injury prevention, and long-term physical resilience.

John’s journey into osteopathy was shaped by his own experience of rehabilitating persistent low back and knee injuries. This personal insight, combined with advanced clinical training, underpins his pragmatic and results-driven approach to care. He is passionate about helping patients not only recover from injury, but move better, perform stronger, and remain resilient over time.

At Synovia, John treats a broad spectrum of patients, from individuals managing everyday aches and persistent pain to high-performing athletes operating at the limits of their physical capacity. His clinical work regularly supports powerlifters, CrossFit athletes, Hyrox competitors, endurance runners, combat sports athletes, and equestrians, with care tailored to the specific demands of each discipline.
Alongside his clinical work, John is a CrossFit Level 1 Coach and British
Weightlifting Strength & Conditioning qualified coach, currently coaching at CrossFit Buxton. He also holds pitch-side pre-hospital care certification through England Rugby, bringing an additional layer of expertise in acute injury management.

John is committed to advancing clinical standards within the profession and serves as a Clinical Tutor and Supervisor at the College of Osteopaths at the University of Derby, where he mentors and trains the next generation of osteopaths.

Outside the clinic, John maintains a deep connection to performance sport, competing in ultramarathons, Hyrox, CrossFit, and judo — experience that continually informs his understanding of the physical and psychological demands placed on the body.
